FourthFret.com Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: Where do I go to upload videos, audio or photos?
A: You must be a member of the FourthFret community to upload
media. Once you have registered and logged in, you can go to the home page and upload video or audio from there. You can also select the 'Edit My
Profile' link in the upper right-hand corner of any screen. From there
you can add videos, audio clips, photos and blogs.
- Q: Is it acceptable to critique other players?
A: Constructive criticism is appreciated by many players. It is,
after all, a primary (if painful) part of making progress. If you're
inclined to leave feedback, please make it constructive and try not to be
too harsh.
- Q: What's the deal with groups?
A: Groups provide a way to categorize different media, members,
blogs, etc. If you're interested primarily in rock, you might join the
rockers group. Then, when you log onto the site, you could go into that
group and see only the members, media and content that's associated with
it. Additionally, when you upload media or add content, you could (and
should) assign it to one or more of the groups to which you belong. That
way, your media will appear to others in the associated groups, as well
as to the community at-large.
- Q: And what the heck are tags?
A: Tags are similar to groups in that they help categorize the
content on FourthFret. When you upload a song or video, or post a blog
entry, etc, you can add any words (a.k.a. tags) that help describe the
posting. Then, when someone does a search for any of the words you
included as tags, your entry will be among the search results.
